Well things have been crazy with us as usual. We have been mobeing tons of stuff all through the bush to make our new mine work and run smoothly and be able to have a place to live here at the mine. It has all worked out pretty nicely I think. Brian and I have drove lots of miles during this process and lets just say my butt can now go a long time with out going numb haha (don't think that's a good thing)One of the times we went to the old mine to pick stuff up, we got to have a camp fire and cook our food over it. I know its not a big deal at all, people do it all the time, but I haven't done it tons like Brian and it was our first time "Camping" together. It wasn't real camping of course we still had our old camp there but there wasn't any heat or any electric or any way of cooking food but on a barbecue or a camp fire and of course I wanted to have a camp fire so Brian was nice enough to do that for me. Brian was so cute cuz to him it is just more work but for me he did it. :)
Update on the mine: We are moving dirt 24/7 and its coming along really well. We pray for good weather everyday so we can make all our deadlines. Heavenly Father has answered them for sure. :) ( Brian is in the Hoe, the thing on the left for those of you that don't know ;))
What we are looking forward to....AUGUST! My parents and Aunt and Uncle and maybe Laura and Payden are coming up for a visit and it is going to be amazing seeing family again! We are so excited to share what Alaska is like and its beauty with them :)

One more thing I have to add....I love my Husband so much! Sometimes I find myself just looking at Brian and watching him and can't help but smile. I am so in love with him and each morning I wake up I am thankful its next to such an amazing man that I get to spend ETERNITY with. <3

Liven Good at Livengood

Well yesterday was a big day for us all in the Baker Clan. WE CLOSED ON LIVENGOOD!!!!

For those of you that don't know what Livengood is here is a summary....

Livengood is a Gold Mine. It is above the ground so its called a placer mine. It is probably the largest placer gold mine in Alaska and maybe North America. Anyways....Its BIG.

This mine is 3 hours closer to town on the same road than our current mine (Tofty) is. It will be really really nice being so close to town and at least for the next little while we will be living in town (so nice)

So this has been a long time coming. Brian's dad has looked into the property for the the past 4 years and the last 2 years have been spent completely consumed in trying to get fincancing and everything lined out so we can purchase and mine Livengood :)

We have finally done it and we are so excited!! This means that we will be able to have a paycheck!!!!! Also Brian will be able to have some time off once things get rolling. The mine will take any where from 10 to 20 years to complete so we will have a steady job.

All around Livengood brings many good things to our life and we are very excited for it!

Soon we will be Liven Good at Livengood!!

Sundays...What a wonderful day of the week!

Today Brian and I got to sleep into 10am, cooked omlette's and we each took a shower (Its really nice to feel clean). Then after a relaxing morning we got to have an even better afternoon! Brian got the sacrament all ready and changed into church clothes and we had a great meeting just the two of us :) Then we got to watch a church DVD about all the prophets of the church and each of their life history. Wilford Woodruff, Spencer W. Kimball, Ezra Taft Benson, Howard W. Hunter are amazing men and have had amazing lives. I love Sundays!!! Thank you to my Husband to be able to give us the sacrament even when we are in the middle of nowhere. <3

Anniversery's :)

1 Year since Brian and I met on March 20th, 2009!!!
Yes, Its been one year since Brian and I met and our lives changed forever!!
I can remember sitting outside with my mom sunbathing (yes sunbathing, a year later I am trying to stay warm inside because its -6 degrees outside) and talking to this guy I didn't know on the phone to see when he would land for his first solo flight in Caldwell, ID. I remember being really excited and my parents being a little apprehensive because we started talking on the internet. I made chicken and rice and homemade rolls in anticipation of meeting Brian and going on a date with him. He was running a couple hours behind so I packed the dinner in a picnic basket with all the stuff to go along with dinner. Finally around 10pm he called and said he had landed and I jumped in my car to go to the airport. Now my parents were a little apprehensive like I said about me going to meet this strange guy from the internet that just flew in with his own plane to meet me, soooooo they decided it wouldn't be safe unless they followed me to the airport so they could see at least from a distance who this guy was. Also for some reason my dad felt it necessary for me to take one of his new walkies talkies so if I needed him I could push the call button and he would be able to come help. Haha I just laughed and said ok because I could tell he was anxious to use his new toy :) (I never did use it but thanks for watching out for me dad!! <3) So We went to the airport and my parents from a far saw Brian and I meet for the first time. :)
That was a special moment for Brian and I. We shared a great night together that night and a wonderful year.

Its also been 4 Months since Brian and I were sealed for all eternity! Its been amazing! Thanks Brian for making it the best year of my life! I love you with all my heart! <3<3<3

Life for the past few weeks....

Well for starters we have been going into town almost every other day to get parts and groceries and things that we need. Its been good. I think I am getting pretty used to sitting in a car for 4-5 hours at a time now. Hopefully today or tomorrow the plane will be done, (the engine had to have some work done on it) and then we can go pick it up in Wasilla and be able to fly back and forth between the mine site and town. That would make the trips A LOT faster.
Hotei......let me tell ya, the bush is quite an adventurous place for a dog like him. In the past couple weeks he has gotten a twig stuck in his paw in between his toes and his foot swelled up to twice its normal size and he didn't walk on it for almost a week. (side note....it was kinda cute cuz Brian and I were gone when it happened and Hotei wouldn't let any of the guys get the stick out (almost biting them :(. When Brian and I got home and found out what had happened I walked right up to him took his paw and took it out without a problem. Its nice to know he trusts us more than the guys even if we are gone a lot. :) ) A couple days ago he tried to eat a porcupine and got a lot of quills in his face and mouth. Pour guy had to be held down and have all of the pulled out except the one in his mouth. Brian and I had to get that one out again because he didn't let the guys in his mouth very well haha. Anyways.....Hotei is all better now and enjoying himself thoroughly in the bush :)
I have been reading lately and I have to say I love books!!! I finished "Catching Fire" two weeks ago and then read "The Last Song", and I am stoked to see the movie! Two days ago I started "City of Bone" I am only about 1/6 of the way in but it is really good. If anyone has any book suggestions that would be great!
